New program in King William aims to improve feline health
KING WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Due to an overpopulation of cats, King William Animal Control will be making changes to its intake process.
In a Facebook post shared by King William County Sheriff's Office, it was announced that due to the overpopulation of cats in King William and King and Queen Counties -- the King William Animal Shelter will no longer trap cats unless they are sick or have been injured.
However, there is a new program being introduced by King William's Regional Animal Shelter and Best Friends Animal Society to help felines in need.
According to the department, the mission of the new program is to trap, neuter, vaccinate and provide medical care -- ultimately, supporting the health and livelihood of outdoor cats.
