PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Following a lockdown at Prince Edward County High School on Friday prompted by a report that a student may have brought a gun to school, no gun was found. According to a post to Facebook by the Prince Edward County Sheriff's Office, deputies and investigators were on the scene at Prince Edward County High School on Friday, Jan. 31, to assist the school resource officer. Officials said the school resource officer reportedly received information that a student may have brought a gun to school Friday morning. "The student in question has been detained, and a search was conducted, but no gun was found," the sheriff's office said.
