One person fighting for life after Albemarle home explosion
ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A person is fighting for their life after a home explosion in Albemarle County on Tuesday.
The evening of Tuesday, Aug. 19, crews with Albemarle County Fire Rescue were called to the area of Ferndown Lane in the Glenmore neighborhood for report of a home explosion.
As of 7:22 p.m. Tuesday, there is a large fire-rescue presence in the area as crews investigate the explosion. Its cause is unknown at this time, though there is currently "no active gas leak," officials said.

Per authorities, one adult victim was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. Other potential injuries are unknown at this time.
The public is asked to avoid the area until the scene has been cleared.
