One resident displaced following house fire in Powhatan County
POWHATAN COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- One person is without a home after a house fire occurred in Powhatan County Tuesday night. In the evening on Tuesday, Jan. 21, Powhatan County Fire and Rescue crews responded to the 2800 block of Anderson Highway for the report of a structure fire. When officers arrived, one person was inside the home who was able to leave safely. Officials said the house is likely a total loss, which has displaced one resident. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. One lane of Route 60, just east of Rocky Oak Road, was closed in the morning on Wednesday, Jan. 22 due to ice buildup that formed from water run-off after the fire, according to the Powhatan County Sheriff's Office.
