Over 500 team members to be hired at Kings Dominion ahead of Halloween Haunt

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Kings Dominion is hiring 500 team members ahead of its upcoming fall season, which begins in September.

According to a Wednesdays, release, Kings Dominion will host a hiring fair from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23, at Kings Dominion Human Resources, at 16000 Theme Park Way in Doswell.

The 2025 Halloween Season, Halloween Haunt, will run from Saturday, Sept 19, and run weekends and certain days through Sunday, Nov. 30.

Saturday will see the park hire for all positions, including ride operators, food & beverage associates, in-park service, games, merchandise, security and admissions staff.

Kings Dominion will also hold open auditions for actors in Halloween Haunt, which include ghouls, actors, makeup artists, sound and lighting technicians and costumers.

The following are the two days for open audition, also at Kings Dominion Human Resources:

• 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 22
• 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 29

The amusement park is encouraging those who apply by clicking here to prepare by doing the following:

• Performers auditioning for scare-actor roles should be ready to scream, laugh, walk, and creep like their favorite creature.
• Makeup artists should bring portfolio or photos of previous work.
• Technicians should have a resume of prior sound and lighting experience.

Applicants must be 16 years old and security applicants must be at least 18 years old.

According to Kings Dominion, qualified candidates may receive on-the-spot job offers, and candidates are encouraged to bring documents required to fill out Form I-9.
