Parent tased by police after creating ‘disturbance’ at Woolridge Elementary School during dismissal
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A parent was tased by police after he reportedly went into Woolridge Elementary School in Chesterfield and created a "disturbance" on Wednesday during dismissal.
During the dismissal of students at Woolridge Elementary School on Wednesday, May 28, a parent went into the building and created a "disturbance," according to a message shared with parents and guardians by a Chesterfield County Public Schools spokesperson.
Staff then responded and contacted the Chesterfield County Police Department. The parent was then taken out of the building, according to the school system.
During the incident, the message said the parent was "physically aggressive" toward some staff members.
Once the parent was outside, police reportedly tased him, after which he was taken into custody.
"The safety of students and staff is always our top priority," the message said. "If you have questions or concerns, please reach out directly. Thank you for your continued support and partnership.”
