Pedestrian hospitalized after being hit by car on Route 1 in Chesterfield County
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Chesterfield County Police Department is investigating after a man was hit by a car on Route 1 Wednesday evening. At 5:55 p.m. on Nov. 6, officers were called to the 14000 block of Route 1 for a reported vehicle crash. According to police, an SUV driving south on Route 1 hit a man who was then taken to VCU Hospital with life-threatening injuries. A police spokesperson told 8News the driver stayed at the scene and is cooperatiing with police. Route 1 southbound between Forest Lake Road and Leighworth Boulevard has been closed as a result.
