Person, 3 dogs displaced after Chesterfield house fire

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- One person and three dogs have been displaced after a house fire in Chesterfield Thursday night.

According to Chesterfield County Fire & EMS, crews responded to a call for a house fire in the 20200 block of Sheffield Place at 9:14 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 29.

When the first firefighters arrived on scene, they found smoke coming from several sides of the home as well as a fire inside.

Crews were able to get the fire under control in 15 minutes, per authorities. While there were no injuries, one adult and three dogs have been displaced as a result of the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation as of the time of reporting.

Chesterfield Fire & EMS also thanked several firefighters from Petersburg, as they responded to the fire due to the home's proximity to the city.
