Person dead after being hit by train in Dinwiddie
DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A person is dead after deputies said they were reportedly hit by a Norfolk Southern Railway train in Dinwiddie County early Saturday morning.
At around 6:44 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, deputies with the Dinwiddie Sheriff's Office were called to Wells Road in the Ford area for a report that a person was hit by a train.
Deputies were assisted by the Norfolk Southern Railway and found the person who was pronounced dead, according to deputies.
As of the time of reporting, the gender and age of the victim are unknown. Deputies are still investigating what caused the incident.
Following the incident, Wells Road was closed down. Deputies said the road has since reopened.
