Person injured after shooting at Chesterfield Wawa

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A person was injured after police believe they were shot multiple times at a gas station in Chesterfield County early Sunday morning.

At 2 a.m. on Sunday, June 15, officers with the Chesterfield County Police Department were called to a nearby Wawa, located at 150 Pike View Drive, for a reported shooting.

An initial investigation reveals that a large group was gathering in the parking lot when police said an "altercation occurred."

A person was later found at a local emergency room with multiple gunshot wounds, according to police.

Officials said the person's injuries are non-life-threatening.
