Person shot in Richmond’s East End

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A person was shot in Richmond's East End on Tuesday.

Just after 6:10 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 30, officers with the Richmond Police Department were called to the 1500 block of Coalter Street for report of a shooting.

When they arrived, they found a person who had been shot.

Police did not provide any additional information on this incident when asked, such as how severe the victim's injuries were or any identifying details like age or gender.

This shooting remains under investigation.

This is not the first shooting this part of Coalter Street has seen this year. In late March, a 63-year-old Richmond man was shot and killed there.

A different block of Coalter Street, the 1300 block, was identified as one of the city's 15 gun violence "hot spots" by the Richmond Police Department in April.
