Petersburg hopes to have its only public pool open by Memorial Day

PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- The City of Petersburg reports steady progress on its public pool's renovations, sharing that it hopes to have the pool open in time for Memorial Day.
The Farmer Street pool, located at 1216 Farmer Street, is Petersburg's only public pool -- and the work being done on it was long overdue, the city said in a April 11 Facebook post.
As of Friday, April 11, Phase I of the project -- demolition of the pool's old tile -- is now complete.

The city said that the project remains on track and, should this remain the case, the pool will be ready in time for Memorial Day Weekend.
