Petersburg Police ask public to avoid South Crater Road for investigation

PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- The Petersburg Bureau of Police has asked the public to avoid part of Crater Road due to an investigation in the afternoon on Christmas Eve.
At around 1:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, the Petersburg Bureau of Police announced on Facebook that officers were on scene in the 800 block of South Crater Road for an investigation.
The public has been asked to avoid the area, and a significant police presence was noted.
