CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Chesterfield County firefighters rescued a kitten from a sewer at Brightpoint Community College on Wednesday. Just before 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6, crews with Chesterfield County Fire and EMS were called to the parking lot of the community college, located on Charter Colony Parkway, after a woman heard the kitten's tiny cries coming from the sewer. Chesterfield Fire's Engine 201 arrived to help. As the kitten was trapped in a confined space, they requested the county's Technical Rescue Team come down to assist with the rescue. It took two hours to safely rescue the small orange kitten, who was thankfully unhurt -- but definitely hungry, according to fire officials. The woman who initially called for help was allowed to take the kitten home.
