PHOTOS: Fort Clifton arts festival in Colonial Heights returns for 49th year

COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. (WRIC) -- The Fort Clifton Arts, Craft and Music Fest in Colonial Heights returned this weekend for its 49th annual event.
The two-day event, which was held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, and Sunday, May 11, featured food, music and arts and crafts sales.
Held annually on Mother's Day weekend, the event included arts and crafts people selling handmade items.
Civil war relic exhibits were also on display for community viewing. Children's ride and concessions were available on both days of the festival.
Local civic groups sell hot dogs, sausage and peppers, hamburgers, funnel cakes, pizza, barbecue, French fries, ice cream, baked goods and more.
Fort Clifton is located behind Tussing Elementary School at 100 Brockwell Lane and is set on 24 acres overlooking the Appomattox River.
