PHOTOS: Goochland 4th-graders get excited about agriculture for ‘Ag Day’
GOOCHLAND COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Some Goochland County elementary schoolers got a chance to learn about agriculture and the important role it plays in everyday life through "Ag Day."
On Friday, April 18, Goochland County Public Schools shared photos of all the fun a group of 4th-graders had for this "beloved tradition" -- one that started as Goochland High School graduate Erin Henley's senior project back in 2008.
"From farm equipment and baby calves to bees, goats, chickens, and homemade ice cream -- our kids learned firsthand how agriculture touches every part of our lives," the school district said in its Facebook post.

Goochland Public Schools thanked its partners -- such as the Virginia Cooperative Extension, Manakin Soil, local farmers, Future Farmers of America (FFA) and 4H members -- for making Ag Day "hands-on, educational and unforgettable."
