CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Multiple businesses had to be evacuated due to a propane leak at a Chesterfield County gas station on Friday.

At about 4:20 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 15, fire and HAZMAT crews with Chesterfield County Fire and EMS were called to a CITGO gas station near the intersection of Forest Hill Avenue and Buford Road for report of a leaking propane tank.

Crews temporarily evacuated several nearby businesses as a safety precaution, per fire officials. Forest Hill Avenue was also shut down for the same reason.

Once the leak was contained, the road was reopened and the evacuation orders were lifted.

No one was hurt.
