PHOTOS: Ribbon-cutting held for Deep Creek Middle School
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Chesterfield County Public Schools celebrated its 13th new middle school during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday morning.
At 9 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23, Deep Creek Middle School, located at 17151 Westerleigh Pkwy, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The school will welcome its first students on Monday, Aug. 18 to kick off the 2025-26 school year. It's built to accomodate 1,800 students.
"This school is more than bricks and mortar," School Board Member Steven Paranto said. "It represents our values, our students, and our vision for 21st century education."

The 254,084-square-foot school is laid out with sixth, seventh and eighth graders on separate floors. It also has a media center, a 1,000-seat auditorium, a 650-student capacity cafeteria and a 1,200-seat gym.
A music suite is also built in, which includes spaces for band, chorus, orchestra and theater, according to the school division.
