HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The 2025 Richmond Marathon wasn't the only race in town this weekend. The annual T. Rex Run on Sunday also brought community members — and dinosaurs — together for a good time.

Families and runners in the area laced up their sneakers on Sunday, Nov. 16, for the 0.4-mile run at Dorey Park in Henrico County. Organizers said all dinosaur species were welcome.

At around 2 p.m., dozens of inflatable dinosaurs, Godzillas and one Barney stomped their way around the lake, filling the afternoon with laughter.

"It is funny to see the little kids in their costumes running around, but it is fun too to see the adults dressed up," said race director Donnie Lane. "One of the requirements is that you have a full-body costume."

Hosted by the Richmond Road Runners Club (RRRC), the free event was a good chance for community members to come out and engage in the fun, Lane said.

If you want to participate in the run next year, stay in touch with RRRC.
