RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Richmond Jewish Food Festival took place on Sunday, and plenty of community members came out to enjoy traditional dishes and live entertainment. The festival was held on Sunday, Nov. 10 from noon to 9 p.m. at the Keneseth Beth Israel synagogue, located at 6300 Patterson Ave. in Richmond, and featured dishes like potato latkes, matzah ball soup and more. There were also live performances from Flat Branch and Ruglin Torah Academy, as well as different vendors for attendees to browse. 8News spoke with Rabbi Elisha Paul -- a local Rabbi and food line helper for the event -- about what the Richmond Jewish Food Festival is all about. "Today is a combination of Judaism and food -- I'll call it 'foodaism' -- we have all the classic Jewish foods from Northern European to Middle European to North African, different types of cuisine from all over the world, and we bring them together in one day so people can experience Jewish culinary dining," Rabbi Paul said. If you missed the festival today, you have another chance to join in and eat traditional Jewish food on Monday, Nov. 11 from noon to 9 p.m. For more information, visit the event's website.
