Pipe replacement project to close part of Powhatan road

POWHATAN COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A section of Petersburg Road in Powhatan will close during April due to a crossline pipe replacement project.
According to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), the closure will take place near 442 Petersburg Road from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 3. Homeowners can still access their homes during the project.
VDOT recommends drivers to use the following detours:
- Northbound: Travel north on Petersburg Road, north to Pilkington Road, north to Clayville Road, west to Genito Road and then south to Petersburg Road.
- Southbound: Travel north on Petersburg Road, north to Pilkington Road, north to Clayville Road, west to Genito Road and then south to Petersburg Road.
