Police investigate homicide shooting in Prince George County

PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Prince George County Police Department has launched a homicide investigation after a person was killed in an overnight shooting.

At 10:44 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 12, officers were called to the 4000 block of Brandywine Drive for a reported shooting.

Upon their arrival, officers found a single victim involved in the incident. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

"Our detectives are currently working diligently to interview witnesses, process the scene, collect forensic evidence, and follow up on all actionable leads," a police spokesperson told 8News. "We appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation as we work to bring this investigation to a resolution. Further, official updates will be provided as they become available."
