Police search for tractor in deadly hit-and-run in Hanover County

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Police are searching for a truck they said was involved in a deadly hit-and-run on Friday in Hanover County.

Authorities with the Virginia State Police responded to the crash at around 9:48 p.m. on Friday, March 20, at a TA truck stop on North Carter Road in Ashland.

The suspected tractor is described as a newer model Freightliner tractor with a possible red decal on the cab. Police provided the description based on information developed during the ongoing investigation.

Officials said they're working to identify the victim, and their identity is pending notification of next of kin. Further information, such as the nature of the crash, was not immediately available.
