Portion of Sadler Road to close for months for road improvement project

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A portion of Sadler Road in Henrico County will be closed for several months beginning Monday for a road improvement project.

Beginning Monday, Feb. 9, a portion of the road between Sadler Grove Road and Sadler Green Lane will be closed for utility work, roundabout construction and realignment of the roadway, according to the Henrico County Public Works & Public Utilities.

The construction work is part of the Sadler Road Realignment and Improvements project.

According to Henrico County, the $42 million project encompasses improvements on a 1.9-mile section of Sadler Road between Dominion Boulevard and Cedar Forest Road, construction of a shared-use path for pedestrians and bicyclists and proposed roundabouts at several intersections, among other realignment plans.

The project is slated for completion by 2027, per Henrico County.

Drivers can follow detour signs, which take them onto Sadler Green Lane, Sadler Glen Lane, Sadler Glen Place, Greenbrooke Drive, Brookmere Drive, Oscar Place, Jalbert Drive, Dublin Road and Sadler Walk Lane.
