Powhatan Free Clinic expands services to include Medicaid
POWHATAN COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Free Clinic of Powhatan is now accepting Medicaid patients as part of its services across multiple counties.
On Monday, Jan. 5, the Free Clinic of Powhatan, which assists with medical assistance for adults across the counties of Powhatan, Chesterfield, Amelia and Cumberland, announced it is now accepting adults with Medicaid.
The free clinic has been helping communities for decades by providing medical, dental, mental health and nutritional services for uninsured adults.
With the addition of Medicaid, the clinic can now provide close-to-home healthcare for both insured and uninsured community members.
The clinic said that services for anyone uninsured will remain the same for residents.
Community partners of the clinic, including social services agencies, food pantries, churches and nonprofit organizations, should still refer uninsured adults, but are also encouraged to notify adults with Medicaid.
Anyone interested in care is asked to directly contact the clinic here.
