Prince George assistant principal accused of ‘inappropriate conduct’ with minor

PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Prince George County High School's assistant principal is under investigation following accusations of "inappropriate conduct" with a minor.

On Thursday, March 5, Prince George County Public Schools (PGCPS) superintendent Wayne Lyle issued a statement to Prince George County High families and staff regarding "allegations of inappropriate conduct involving a staff member at [the] school," who was identified as assistant principal Aucet Wilson.

Details on this alleged conduct, including the exact nature of it, are very limited at this time -- though Lyle said it was reported the week of Feb. 23. He added that Wilson has not been in the school building since Wednesday, Feb. 25.

A report was filed with the Prince George Police Department, which told 8News it is "actively investigating the matter."

"PGCPS is committed to both cooperating fully with law enforcement in this matter and taking every possible step to ensure the safety of our school community," Lyle said in his statement.

8News asked a PGCPS spokesperson if the minor connected to these allegations is a student at Prince George County High. We also asked if the alleged "inappropriate conduct" happened on school grounds.

The spokesperson said that, because this is a personnel matter, no further information could be provided.

"We are mindful that situations like this can be difficult for students and families alike," Lyle said in his statement. "Our school counselors here at the high school and our Care Solace resources are always available if your child needs extra support or resources during this time. Thank you, and we appreciate your partnership and trust."

At this time, Wilson is out on administrative leave, per the spokesperson. Though 8News asked, the spokesperson did not specify whether or not this leave is paid.

Police said an update on this incident will be provided when possible.
