Prince George Fire urges kitchen safety after toaster fire
PRINCE GEORGE, Va. (WRIC) -- Prince George County Fire and EMS is encouraging families to keep their kitchens safe after a toaster caught on fire in a home Tuesday evening.
Shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, crews with Prince George County Fire and EMS were dispatched to the 4900 block of Cheshire Drive in the Jefferson Park District for a reported fire.
When crews arrived, they found smoke inside the home and quickly removed the source of the fire -- a toaster.
Officials said there were no reported injuries.

- Ensuring appliances are in good working order
- Keep flammable items away from heat sources
- Have a fire extinguisher easily accessible
