RACC encourages Richmond residents to foster pets for Thanksgiving

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Richmond Animal Care and Control (RACC) is asking Richmond residents who will be home for Thanksgiving to foster a pet for the holiday.

RACC announced on Monday, Nov. 10, that the shelter is looking for families that will be home for Thanksgiving -- and not traveling -- who are willing to foster a dog or cat from Nov. 23 through Dec. 6.

The shelter said it provides all the needed supplies to Thanksgiving fosters.

RACC added that it is most in need of families with no other pets, and those who plan to be a "foster fail," meaning they plan to adopt their foster pet, get first pick.

Anyone looking to foster a pet from RACC can do so by emailing lydia.worden@rva.gov.
