Residents evacuate safely from house fire in Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Chesterfield County Fire and EMS responded to a house fire early Wednesday morning. At around 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6, Chesterfield Fire and EMS crews responded to a house fire at the 1600 block of Irvenway Lane. According to the fire department, the first firefighters on the scene saw heavy fire coming from the front of the home. Fire crews managed to get the fire under control in under 30 minutes and the residents were able to evacuate out of the one-story home safely, according to officials. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
