Residents relocated after fire blazes from bedroom in Chesterfield apartment
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- An unknown number of residents were being relocated after a fire blazed from the bedroom of an apartment in Chesterfield County Thursday morning.
At 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28, Chesterfield County Fire and EMS crews were dispatched to a call regarding a fire in an apartment in the 3200 block of Tanners Way.
When firefighters arrived, they found smoke coming from an apartment and fire in a bedroom within that apartment.
The fire was reportedly marked under control at 11:27 a.m., officials said.

The apartment from which the fire blazed was vacant, according to a Chesterfield Fire and EMS spokesperson, and there were no injuries reported.
The unit below the apartment that experienced the fire was affected, and residents were reportedly being relocated by management. Officials are working to determine the number of residents affected.
Officials continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
