Richmond Animal Care and Control launches Foster to Furever adoption program
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Richmond Animal Care and Control (RACC) has launched a new adoption program where folks can foster adoptable dogs for a week to see if their family and home are a match.
According to RACC, the Foster to Furever adoption program allows folks to experience a "trial run" for a week with a dog before adopting.
Adoptable dogs must be 6 months or older and be spayed or neutered to be eligible for the program.
The $100 adoption fee is required to participate, according to the shelter.
Due to the rapid adoption of the shelter's cats, RACC said the program is only available for its adoptable dogs.
The trial foster period lasts seven days, and during this period, RACC's adoption coordinators will be folks' go-to point of contact to offer support and help with any questions or concerns.
