This 23-year-old self-taught Baker has been baking for over 20 years, and says she got her start by learning from her grandmother.
"I grew up baking and cooking with my grandmother -- and she's from Luxembourg, so I grew up eating a lot of traditional French foods," Anderson said. "That sort of instilled a love of both the craft of baking and the taste of French cuisine in me."
Her journey didn't stop there. The summer before her senior year, Anderson studied abroad in Paris for a year and lived right above a bakery.
"That was a pretty life-changing experience for me and probably subconsciously inspired my decision to start [this business]," Anderson said.
Her time spent in Paris has influenced some of what you might see displayed in the bakery. As she explains it, "it's always a great feeling when people are like 'oh you don't see this a lot in the U.S.'"
Anderson's bakery will be located in Richmond's South Side, just a few streets down from Belle Isle. When asked about the reasoning behind this particular building, she says she was super drawn to this space due to its aesthetic.
"It's super sunny all the time inside, super bright and open," she said. "And as soon as you walk in, I just feel like it's welcoming."
No matter if you're a regular or if you have yet to try this bakery, the owner of La Petite Morceau said that she wants it to be a welcoming community space where people can come in and enjoy really good food.

"I'm super excited to just have people be in here and for me to be able to share my passions, and my life story and everything I bring to my baking with them," she said. "So I'm just really happy that I'm able to share really good food with so many people and reach people in the same way I was able to connect with my grandmother growing up."
The bakery shop is currently in its early stages of development and, according to Anderson, is set to open in five months.
"Bringing people together through food is really my life's passion, and my goal," she said.
