Richmond Inclement Weather Shelter to operate continuously this week

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The City of Richmond announced over the weekend that the Inclement Weather Shelter will stay open continuously throughout this week. According to a release from the city, the Salvation Army has expanded the operating hours of the Inclement Weather Shelter due to the upcoming drop in temperatures. This means that the shelter will stay open until 12 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24 without any disruption of services. The city has also partnered with Daily Planet Health Services to open an Inclement Weather Overflow Shelter on Sunday, Jan. 19 at 8 a.m. This shelter will also be open continuously until Friday, Jan. 24 at 12 p.m. The locations and capacities for the shelters are listed below: Inclement Weather Shelter (Salvation Army) Location: 1900 Chamberlayne Parkway Capacity: Single adult men and women (66 men, 40 women) Call for availability: 804-653-5707 Inclement Weather Overflow Shelter (The city and Daily Planet Health Services) Location: 900 E.
