Richmond Kickers announce returning players in initial 2025 lineup
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Richmond Kickers have announced the returning players to their initial roster for the 2025 season. There are 12 players that have been announced in this initial group but the soccer club claims that players from the 2024 squad are in negotiations to return. Nine of these players returned on multi-year contracts and the other three -- Adrian Billhardt, James Vaughan and Gui Franca -- had their options exercised. Three players, Griffin Garnett, Landon Johnson, and Beckett Howell, will be "the first three players in Kickers' history to go pro from the academy," according to a release on Wednesday. Richmond native Josh Kirkland will be joined by Adrian Billhardt, Pablo Jara, James Vaughan, Klaidi Cela, and Gui Franca in returning for their second year with the club. According to the club, more roster details will be shared as the 2025 season draws near -- the soccer club's 33rd consecutive season.
