Richmond Police seek 3 people who may know something about deadly assault in Scott’s Addition
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Police are searching for three people who may know something about the deadly assault of a 26-year-old man in Richmond's Scott's Addition neighborhood. On Wednesday, Oct. 16, 26-year-old Jacob Baldwin, of Chesterfield County, died in a local hospital four days after police say he was attacked in Richmond's Scott's Addition neighborhood. Following his death, police have been searching for any information on what happened to him. The aggravated assault was called in around 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12. When officers with the Richmond Police Department arrived in the 2800 block of West Marshall Street, they found Baldwin down in the intersection of West Marshall and North Sheppard streets with a life-threatening injury to his head. On Thursday, detectives said they believed Baldwin -- pictured above-- was attacked by an unknown male following an "altercation." Louis Burrell, a detective with the department's Major Crimes Unit, attended a Friday morning vigil held for Baldwin by his loved ones. There, he told 8News that police are now searching for three persons of interest in connection to Baldwin's assault. IN CARYTOWN: Richmond Police investigating assault outside Carytown business According to Burrell, these people are not thought to be suspects at this time. However, they were in the immediate area when Baldwin was attacked and may have information on what happened to him. Burrell said these persons of interest include two males and one female.
