Richmond Renaissance Faire to hold fundraising kickoff event

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Richmond Renaissance Faire will hold a fundraising kickoff event on Friday with demonstrations, magic shows and more to support this event and its future events.

The Richmond Renaissance Faire will hold a fundraising kickoff event from 5 to 11 p.m. on Friday, March 7 at Gallery5 and its surrounding blocks at 200 W. Marshall St.

According to an Instagram post shared by the Richmond Renaissance Faire on Thursday, Feb. 27, the fundraising event is a free event that is a part of Gallery5 and Richmond's First Fridays Art Walk with the fair trying to raise $7,500 to cover costs associated with this event and future events.

"This is an all-volunteer initiative, but it takes a lot to make events like this happen. From security, potties, licensing, insurance, prints and marketing expenses, tents, lighting, stages, safety equipment, supplies and materials and so much more," the Richmond Renaissance Faire said in its Instagram post.

The event will feature combat and artisan demonstrations, storytelling, magic shows, as well as food and drinks.
