Richmond roadways closed amid inclement weather

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Several roadways in Richmond have closed as the weekend winter storm continues making its way throughout the region.

Richmond officials announced on Sunday, Jan. 25, that several roads in the city have closed to support road-clearing efforts. Officials said residents should stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary.

The following lanes have been closed:

  • Boulevard Bridge: north and southbound from Pump House Drive to Riverside Drive.
  • Brown's Island Way: from South 2nd Street to South 5th Street
  • Byrd Street: from South 4th Street to South 5th Street
  • South 3rd Street: from East Cary Street to East Byrd Street
  • North 23rd Street: from East Franklin Street To East Grace Street 
  • North 25th Street: from West Broad Street to East Main Street, including intersections at Main Street, Franklin Street, Grace Street and Broad Street 
  • East Marshall Street: from North 21st Street to North 20th Street
  • North 7th Street: blocks 900 through 1200, from the I-64 East/I-95 West on-ramps to Hospital Street 
  • Hospital Street: from North 7th Street to North 5th Street 

The roads will remain closed until clear, officials said.
