Richmond roadways, parking restrictions in place ahead of Dogwood Dell fireworks
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A free-of-charge fireworks show is scheduled for yet another year at the City of Richmond's Dogwood Dell.
The event means several restrictions are in place for those planning on driving into the Carillon neighborhood for fireworks.
Starting at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 4, several roadways will not allow parking, including Arthur Ashe Boulevard between the 400 and 700 blocks and the 1000 block of South Belmont Avenue will close.
Those "no parking" areas are in effect until 11 p.m. Friday.
Other Richmond streets will also be closed starting on Friday afternoon, including a closure of Carillon and Shields Lake Park.
A Richmond lieutenant tells me cars parked in those areas will be towed after 11 a.m.
For those coming in from the southside, the Nickel Bridge will be closed to cars starting at 8 p.m. Friday.
Below is more information on the rest of the road closures according to Richmond Police.

To make it easier for drivers, a free shuttle will take drivers to and from the fireworks from City Stadium.
The same Richmond lieutenant said shuttle rides will be available regularly beginning at 4 p.m. Friday.
