Richmond sets deadline for vacuum leaf removal requests

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The city of Richmond is asking its resident that need a vacuum leaf removal to request the service by Tuesday, March 31.

The city of Richmond has announced that all residents who need a vacuum leaf removal must request the service by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31. There will be no requests accepted after that date.

Residents within the city have the option to pay $30 for vacuum leaf collection fee by adding it to their utility bill by using the RVA 311 system, or by mailing a check/money order to the Department of Public Works Leaf Collection Program at 900 East Broad Street, Suite 704, Richmond, VA 23219.

Payment for the service must be received before the collection is scheduled. If a check or money order is mailed, it must be received by March 31.

The city of Richmond wants to remind its residents about the following for vacuum leaf collection:

  • Leaves must be raked and ready for pickup by the time of the request.
  • Leaves must be raked to the property line at the front or side, but not in the street.
    • Do not block ditches, gutters or the street.
  • Remove any sticks, stones or other objects that could damage equipment.
  • Leaves will not be collected from the alley.
