Richmond support group to celebrate launch of sobriety-themed art exhibit

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A Richmond organization that provides support to those battling addiction will celebrate its new gallery opening on Friday.

Riffs and Recovery offers sobriety support meetings to musicians, industry professionals and music lovers in the Richmond area. Its mission is to "offer hope, fellowship and a path forward" to those in those communities who are struggling with addiction.

On Friday, July 4, Riffs and Recovery will host a free kickoff event for the grand opening of its new visual arts exhibition, called "In Bloom," at the Gallery5 -- located at 200 W. Marshall Street.

In Bloom is described by organizers as a visual arts showcase that celebrates "growth, renewal and transformation through the lens of sobriety." It will be open from July 3 to July 26.

All proceeds from the event will go towards paying the performers, thanking Gallery5 for its support and helping Riffs and Recovery start up a nonprofit.
