Richmond Tree Week to bring tree-centric events to the River City

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Richmond Tree Week is returning for its sixth year, bringing a variety of tree-centric events to the River City in early November.

Hosted by Reforest Richmond, the week will span from Saturday, Nov. 1, through Saturday, Nov. 8, featuring free tree giveaways, volunteer tree plantings, invasive plant removals, author talks, kids' storytimes, happy hours and a tree-hugging contest.

  • Saturday, Nov. 1
    • 9 a.m. to noon: Community Tree Planting at Byrd Park
    • 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Richmond Tree Stewards Annual Tree Giveaway
    • 10 to 11 a.m.: Rain Barrel Workshop
    • 2 to 4 p.m.: "Choosing Your Perfect Tree" Author Talk with Laurel Roaldson and Tree Giveaway
    • 5 to 7 p.m.: Richmond Tree Week 2025 Opening Social
  • Sunday, Nov. 2
    • 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.: Bryan Park Trees and Birds Walking Tour
    • 10 a.m. to noon: Mindful Tree Walk
    • 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Volunteer Tree Planting at Battery Park
