Richmond water main at 7th and Canal Streets repaired
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Richmond water main at 7th and Canal Streets that caused low water pressure in Henrico County has been repaired, according the city's Department of Public Utilities.
According to an announcement by the city on Tuesday, June 3, the water main at 7th and Canal Streets that was discovered to have broken on Thursday, May 29, was fixed.
Water service has been fully restored, a city spokesperson said.
The repair was supposed to be completed early Monday, June 2, but required additional city resources and city engineering support due to the "complexity and connectivity of the region's distribution system."

The city said the work was previously delayed, allowing Henrico County to maximize water storage within its distribution system. The timeline was then accelerated to minimize the impact on residents in both Richmond and Henrico County.
City and county leaders have reportedly worked closely together since Friday, May 31, to prepare and plan for the repair.
This follows reports of low water pressure by many Henrico County residents due to the water main break.
