Richmond’s Maymont Park to celebrate World Wildlife Day

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Maymont Park is set to celebrate World Wildlife Day on March 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The celebration will take place at the Robinsons Nature Center at 2201 Shields Lake Dr. and Maymont Farm at 1001 Spotswood Rd.
Attendees can spend either the whole day or a few hours connecting with wildlife through various activities including:
- Animal keeper talks
- Animal feedings and enrichment activities
- Presentations
- Drop in activities
- Wildlife-related activities
- Crafts
- Games
Wildlife members from other organizations including The Wildlife Center of Virginia will join the festivities for talks, film screenings and hands-on crafts.
This event is free for all age groups, and select sessions are capacity-limited, while admission is based on a first-come, first-served basis.
Local food trucks and vendors will also be available and a schedule of events is also provided on their website.
