RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Sugar & Salt Bakery in Richmond has closed its doors after five years in business.

In a social post, the bakery, which opened in February 2020 in the city's Jackson Ward area, closed on Saturday after five years.

The store has now been closed to the public since Saturday, April 26, with a final pop-up opening at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, until they sell out their baked goods.

"We are grateful for the patronage over the years and want to thank you for picking us to be part of your families' celebrations and life events," the social post reads.

In addition to May 10's event, the bakery also announced that they will hold a Sprinkles and Small Wares sale, which offers local baking tools, utensils and ingredients. As of the time of reporting, no date for this sale has been announced.
