Road closures coming to Hanover for Ashland’s Harvest Run

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Some Hanover County roadways will see closures on Saturday as the community laces up for the Harvest Run in Ashland.

From 7 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, the Harvest Run will take place in Ashland, with the race route crossing over multiple roadways in the area, including England Street. To ensure runners' safety, the Ashland Police Department will implement closures on such involved roadways.

Maple Street between Sunny Drive and Ashcake Road will be fully closed to traffic, while other closures will only be in place while runners are actively crossing.

There will also be "No Parking" signs posted on northbound South Center Street between Francis and Myrtle streets. These signs will be in place between 6 and 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Both police officers and race officials will be posted at intersections throughout the Ashland area to both protect runners and aid in the flow of traffic. They will also allow cars to enter and exit the course to access their homes.

"We ask that vehicular traffic proceed with caution through each of these congested areas," police said.
