RVA Illuminates: Food trucks, performances and more
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- With RVA Illuminates just days away, 8News spoke with a special guest on Tuesday to talk about what people can expect along the Richmond skyline this Friday.
8News anchor Autumn Childress and reporter Allison Williams were joined by Tamara Jenkins, Richmond's public information manager, to talk about what people can expect outside of lighting up the skyline.
"It's just bringing Richmonders, whether you live in the city or in the counties, together," Jenkins said. "It's a fun time, we have performances, we have food trucks -- we even have people that come out and actually dress up, it is just one of my favorite times of year, and it's definitely one of my favorite events.
People can head to Kanawha Plaza at E Canal Street and S 7th Street in Richmond on Friday, Dec. 5. While the lighting will take place at 6 p.m., there will be wintry fun in the hours leading up to it, and appearances from 8News' own Deanna Albrittin, Eric Philips and many more.
