Science Museum of Virginia in Richmond to host teacher resource fair

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Science Museum of Virginia in Richmond is gearing up to host its second teacher resource fair of 2025.

According to the museum's website, the fair is set to take place on Saturday, Sept. 13, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Science Museum of Virginia, located at 2500 W. Broad St.

The event is open to all ages and will feature a variety of organizations statewide to connect teachers with resources that are designed to engage and inspire student learning in and out of the classroom, according to the museum.

Educators will be able to speak directly with Science Museum staff and learn the "ins and outs" of field trip planning. A hands-on challenge in "The Forge" and live demos will be showcased at the event. There will also be drawings and door prizes for attendees.

Teachers will receive free general admission as well as the chance to bring up to three guests for free.

Those who wish to bring additional guests can purchase tickets for a discounted rate, with all guests required to be checked in at the same time.

Tickets to watch a film or astronomy show in The Dome will cost $5 per person.

The teacher fair is open to public, private and homeschool teachers. Those who are homeschool teachers must bring a teacher ID or homeschool letter of intent, according to the museum.

Attendees must check in for the event between 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Once checked in, teachers and guests can stay until 5 p.m. when the museum closes.
