Second suspect arrested in Powhatan broad daylight break-in, larcenies

POWHATAN COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A second suspect has been arrested in connection with multiple larcenies and a vehicle break-in that occurred during broad daylight hours in Powhatan County.
On Thursday, Aug. 14, the Powhatan Sheriff's Office announced that they have arrested a second suspect, 36-year-old Jamar Alexander Hanchell. According to authorities, he has received several charges in multiple jurisdictions -- including larceny of belongings and credit cards in Powhatan's Fighting Creek Park area.
Powhatan detectives obtained a search warrant, which was later executed in Chesterfield County.
The warrant reportedly led authorities to find hundreds of driver's licenses, checks, passports, credit cards, debit cards and gift cards. Victims in multiple jurisdictions and states have been identified, and the respective jurisdictions have been contacted, according to the sheriff's office.

Detectives believe that Hanchell is connected to at least one vehicle break-in that occurred on May 6 in Fighting Creek Park in Powhatan County.
In the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 18, the sheriff's office arrested 23-year-old Destiny Alexis Duncan of Portsmouth, the first suspect in the larcenies and a vehicle break-in.
Authorities said Duncan was charged with credit card larceny, credit card fraud, conspiring to commit larceny, identity theft and falsely identifying herself to law enforcement, according to the sheriff’s office.
