Several streets in Richmond to close this weekend for festivals

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Several streets will close and no parking will be available in Richmond this weekend due to festivals like the Church Hill Irish Festival and Shamrock The Block.

The 39th annual Irish Festival will take place this Saturday, March 15 through Sunday, March 16 — at 25th Street and East Broad Street.

According to a social post from the Richmond Police Department's Facebook page, from 9 a.m. on Friday, March 14 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 16, the festival will cause two closures:

  • The 2400 to 2500 block of E. Broad Street (between N. 24th and 26th Street)
  • The 200 to 300 block of N. 25th Street (between E. Grace and Marshall Street)

The annual Shamrock The Block festival will also be coming to Richmond this weekend from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 15. It will result in two different closures from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 15:

  • The 2000 to 2700 block of W. Leigh Street (between Hermitage Road and Meyers Street)
  • The 1000 block of DMV Drive (between W. Broad and Leigh Street)

Other weekend events include: 41st annual Craftsmen’s Spring Classic Art and Craft FestivalScience After Dark at the Science Museum and Hello Kitty Cafe Truck at Short Pump.
