Shenandoah National Park holds wildflower art contest for students K-12

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Shenandoah National Park is holding a wildflower art contest for students K-12, and the deadline is quickly approaching.

The contest is open to K-12 students from Virginia and Washington D.C., with public, private, city school or home-schooled students allowed to participate in the contest.

The deadline for submissions is Saturday, April 5.

The following are a few rules for those who interested in participating:

  • Only one submission per artist will be accepted
  • Student must create artwork that lies flat down
  • The artwork must showcase a native wildflower that is found in Shenandoah National Park
